I am often asked to talk about what makes a good team.so here is my favorite list!

The Winning Elements of Highly Effective and Happy Teams are:

1. Dr. is committed to his/her practice's philosophy (i.e. Walk your talk)
2. Each individual's goals and professional values align with the practice's philosophy
3. Team diversity is understood and respected
4. Job responsibilities are clear and written
5. A positive protocol for team evaluations is in place
6. The team is solution versus problem-oriented
7. Regular time is set aside for training in technical and communication skills
8. The entire team huddles daily
9. Effective and Interesting monthly team meetings (at least!)
10. The team is able and willing to address conflict for the purpose of resolution (most challenging of all)
11. Standard operating procedures are put into place for all systems
12. The team understands the business side of the practice and the need to be profitable.

Simple, but hardly effortless.
